FC Pirin started preparation for the spring half-season. The Eagles went out for first training, led by manager Warren Feeney.
He brought out a group of 20 players, with only Gabriel Da Silva not present due to the longer flight from Brazil.
The first session of the year was preceded by the traditional blessing ritual, served by Father Peter.The newly elected mayor of Blagoevgrad, eng. Rumen Tomov, as well as his deputy Yasen Popvassilev were also present at the small fest. The event was also honored by the former and current Chairman of the Blagoevgrad Municipal Council – Radoslav Taskov and Andon Todorov.
Manager Warren Feeney promised serious work during the preparation period, emphasizing on physical fitness, at least for the first 2-3 weeks. From Monday, the team will be joined be 14 players – eight from the youth academy and six on trial, with four of them being foreigners. Direct contracts with two players, Englishman and Bulgarian, are to be finalized in the coming week.
