WAREN FEENEY: “IT IS JUST THE BEGINNING OF THE SEASON”
“I am confident in our abilities. I want the team to bounce back for that disappointing performance on Wednesday night. Disappointment is for everyone, but it is important to react and stand on our feet for our next match. This is our task. Sozopol is a very well organized team – we watched them several times. Like any of our rivals, I think they will try to give the maximum of their capabilities. This is normal.
We respect our opponent, but we have to focus mostly on our game. We don’t have new injury issues. Everyone has the right to share an opinion, but as I said – the season is just beginning, we have to be patient” Pirin manager Warren Feeney said.
THE OPPONENT
Sozopol won a promotion for professional football after finishing first in the Southeastern Third League last season. The team from the seaside resort finished last season two points ahead of Zagorets (Nova Zagora). Our upcoming opponent started the new season with a 1: 1 home draw against Dobrudja, and then recorded a 2: 3 loss away to Litex. On Wednesday Sozopol recorded 2: 2 at home against Kariana (Erden).
Sozopol Sporting director Rumen Dimov shared his expectations for the match in front of www.fcpirin.com. “A dynamic and contested match awaits us. Our expectations are – to perform well. To show the character of our extremely young team and to satisfy the interest of the Blagoevgrad audience, which we respect very much. This is one of the areas where our club has held training camps almost every year.
