On the eve of the match against Botev (Vratsa) from the 9th round of the First League, which is on friday, 02.09, from 18:15 no. the president of FC Pirin Stanislav Manolev gave a short interview to www.fcpirin.com. In it, the former international affected the performance of the team so far, the selection, as well as the rumors about a possible replacement of the head coach Krasimir Petrov, distributed in certain online publications.
"It is normal for our supporters to be unhappy with the performance, because we only have 3 points from 8 the circle. I dare to say, that we deserved more, but different factors, quite a few of which are subjective, they deprived us of them. In most matches, we showed a good game, there were also unsatisfactory performances, but let's not forget, that the team is in a transition period.
We are trying to build a young squad, which is never an easy task, especially, when last season we had experienced players in key positions.
We tried to attract young players and thus "change the blood". Some adapt well, some of them need more time. Be sure, that we work hard, to assemble a fighting team and we are sure, that we will succeed.
We categorically support head coach Krasimir Petrov and stand firmly behind him, because we think, that this is the man, who can lead and develop this Pirin team. Now is the time to refute the information, that we are looking for a new coach. We have a coach, who we trust. The same goes for his staff.
I am addressing our fans, urging them to come to the stadium on Friday and support us against Botev (Vratsa). I believe, that this time we will not disappoint them and step by step we will get out of the difficult situation. Together, fans and team, we will overcome difficulties, but for this we must be united," declared Manolev
