At a meeting with the media, which took place at the "Hristo Botev" stadium, OFK Pirin presented its new management.
The acting manager of the club Petar Zanev spoke to the journalists, Peter Mihtarski, who takes over the position of sports and technical director, Velislav Elezov, who will act as an administrative consultant and Yordan Grozdanov, who returns to the club as head of public and media relations.
It became clear at the press conference, that the new management managed to secure funds for the payment of two salaries to footballers and officials - for the months of October and November 2023 year.
The club's gross salary remuneration budget has been optimized in relation to the current financial conditions. From budget, inclusive 205 thousands of BGN. per month, the club will use a budget, amounting to 165 thousands of BGN. per month.
The general situation was commented on at the meeting with the media, in which the club was inherited, as well as relations with former and current football players.
Regarding the widely commented topic in the public space, related to the transfer of Marcel Bibishkov to the Italian giant Juventus, carried out under the previous management, it became clear, that the club will not receive any funding from formation and development compensation under FIFA rules, as the young footballer was not offered a contract in the official order.
Documents for paid premiums have not been presented either, which the player received during his stay in the representative team. The claim was backed up by a document from FIFA, which was shown to the media representatives by the new administrative consultant Velislav Elezov.
Regarding the topic with the young talent Vasil Hristov, who terminated his contract with the club, because of unpaid wages, it became clear, that the player has not received wages since June 2023 g. until the termination. As a result, an inspection by the labor inspectorate was triggered, which found dozens of violations, among which is selective payment of salaries to football players and officials. The claims were supported by relevant documents.
Last but not least, abuses of club finances were revealed, including those with means of using fuels, invoices and other payments.
It became clear at the press conference, that to date the club owes the most funds to the National Revenue Agency. An audit is currently underway, which will reveal further details about the financial situation of OFK Pirin.
The management is currently in negotiations with a potential new investor. The short-term goals are related to the preservation of the current composition of the representative team and its possible reinforcement, for him to be competitive in the battle to stay in the First League.
