In Friday, 22 July, from 18:30 no. Pirin visits the newcomer Spartak in Varna in the first match of the 3rd round of the First League.
The Eagles recorded a defeat away to Lokomotiv (Plovdiv) in the first round, and in the second they ended in a draw 1:1 against CSKA 1948 in a match, caused many controversies and scandals, because of the refereeing of the main referee Dimo Dimov.
Spartak, on the other hand, unfortunately lost their first match in the elite by 13 years ago, after ceding to Slavia s 0:1 with an own goal at the very end. In the second round, the "falcons" recorded a defeat with 0:5 during Levski's visit.
This is what the coach of Pirin Krasimir Petrov shared with www.fcpirin.com before the departure of the team to Varna:
"A very difficult match awaits us against a motivated opponent, who has shown a pretty good game so far, though he lost both his matches. Spartak is a valuable and aggressive team, who tries to play good football.
Regarding our team, in this match i want to see the style, which we aim for – to play attacking, with confidence in the opponent's half, to use the creativity of our footballers.
Of course, we must show responsibility and concentration in the defense phase as well, because otherwise we will lose our much needed balance. I do not think, that the scandalous game of the previous round will affect the mood of the team. We are ready for the upcoming match and I hope to show a valuable game and congratulate ourselves with a good result", Petrov stated.
The injured Stanislav Kostov remains out of the group for the match. In the extended lineup, unlike the last match, are the new additions Martin Smolensky and the goalkeeper Maxim Kovalev.
